Jay is a Navy veteran, educator, and lifelong student of mind-body development who has dedicated more than four decades to helping people build resilience, self-awareness, and practical skills for navigating life's challenges. He currently serves as a Board Member of The Harmonetiks Project and as President of Harmonetiks Warriors INC., a public Benefit Corporation, where he works to expand access to self-care and Skill based self care programs for veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and their families.

A graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Jay earned a Bachelor of Science degree and was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy Reserve. His experiences in military service, leadership, business, and personal transformation shaped a lifelong commitment to understanding how people respond to stress, adversity, trauma, and change.

For more than forty years, Jay has studied and taught martial arts, Tai Chi, Qigong, meditation, and personal development. As a 6th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor and founder of the InnerChi Mind/Body Institute, he has trained thousands of students and developed programs focused on stress reduction, pain management, nervous-system regulation, and personal growth. He has also served as a Master Trainer for Dr. Paul Lam's internationally recognized Tai Chi for Arthritis program, helping train instructors who have gone on to serve communities around the world.

Jay's work bridges Eastern contemplative traditions, modern understandings of human performance and recovery, and decades of practical teaching experience. His passion lies in making effective self-care simple, accessible, and sustainable—particularly for those who spend their lives serving others.

Through Harmonetiks Warriors, Jay is helping build a growing ecosystem of programs, instructors, and community partnerships dedicated to empowering individuals with practical tools for resilience, connection, and lifelong well-being. He believes that meaningful change begins with small, repeatable practices that help people reconnect with themselves, their purpose, and their capacity to thrive.
